Ballast Water Management System

Introduction

The Ballast Water Management System(BWMS) is a equipment system to remove harmful marine organism and pathogens from the ballast water tank in ships in order to prevent destruction or disturbance of the marine ecosystem.

At the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2004, the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sedimentes was adopted to make it mandatory to install BWMS.

There are several different methods of the system, which are ultraviolet irradiation, electrolysis and ozone dispensing methods. Our products are rectifiers and electrolytes used in BWMS of Japan's PANASONIC environment engineering.

2. No filter system for organisms

  • Thanks to the combination of electrolyte and stirrer with high sterilization function, no pretreatment is required to remove more than 50um of life. Therefore, the processing defect RISK is greatly reduced and the flow/time of the BALLAST is stable.

3. Reduction of operating cost

  • Sterilizing agents can be produced on board with only a small amount of salt.

  • No pre-filteration system can reduce huge amount of cost of consumable material.
