Aluminum Hydroxide / Alumina (Aluminum Oxide)

Aluminum Hydroxide

Introduction

Aluminum hydroxide, manufactured using BAYER method, whose raw material is bauxite, is widely used as a refractory material because it is easily dissolved in response to acid and alkali, and is thermally stable to 200°C, and absorbs a large amount of heat as crystalline water is dehydrated at high temperatures. Since different kinds of products are produced according to free water content and average intake, they can be applied to various heavy chemical industries.

Advantage

1. Wet type Aluminum Hydroxide(ATH)

  • This is 3 molecules crystalline ATH that contains free-moisture. It is easily dissolved in response to acid and alkali.

2. Dry / Fine ATH

  • product is produced by removing only free-moisture from the surface of Wet type ATH. The reactivity and solubility to acid and alkali are the same as Wet type ATH, but easy to handle and to mix other additives.

  • It is low viscosity so that it is used as a filler.

  • It is thermally stable upto 200°C so that it is used as a flame retardant material for rubber and plastic.

  • flame retardant, it emits only water molecules as the temperature rises, so there is no toxic gas or smoke. It has excellent tracking resistivity, so it is widely used as an electrical insulating material.

3. Super Fine ATH

  • Excellent whiteness, Low conductivity and Low absorption rate

  • When used as a flame retardant, it emits only water molecules as the temperature rises, so there is no toxic gas or smoke. It has excellent tracking resistivity, so it is widely used as an electrical insulating material.

4. Boehmite

  • It is used as an environmentally friendly halogen-free flame retardant

  • No toxic gases or fumes are generated in high temperatures or flames, and it has excellent tracking resistivity.

  • It can be applied to PCB.

Application

  • CABLE, HFFR Filler

  • Insulation, HFFR Filler

  • Tire

  • Thermal Paper

  • Copper Clad Laminate

  • Liner for Engineering Plastics

  • Separator for Li-Ion Battery

Alumina(Aluminum Oxide)

Alumina, a white crystalline powder, is manufactured by calcining aluminum hydroxide. The basic chemical formula is Al2O3 and it is the most stable and widely used typical alpha alumina. It is widely used for flame retardants, insulation, ignition plugs, IC substrates, abrasives, and polishes as it has high melting temperature, high Morse hardness, high electrical resistance, and stable in acid and alkali.

Advantage

1. Calcined Alumina

  • As a hexagonal crystalline structure, it is most commonly used for flame retardants, ceramics, and abrasives, etc.

  • It contains very low amount of micro particle. An average particle size is 3~5um.

2. Low-Soda Alumina

  • This is the crystallized α-Alumina calcined in a rotary kiln at high temperature.

  • Soda content is below 0.05% and α-size is 1~4um. It is mainly used for Alumina ceramics, ignition plug and electronic insulation products.

3. Super Fine Functional Alumina

  • This product stands for Super fine alumina and easily sintered alumina. The raw materials are calcined alumina for sintering and low caustic soda alumina. After the milling process, it is classified into three Grades: low, medium and normal caustic soda content.

  • They are widely used for alumina ceramics in the electro-ceramics industry because of its characteristics of heat-resistance, chemical stability, high strength, abrasion-resistance, electro-insulation, etc.

Application

  • Parts for Electronics

  • IC Substrate

  • Parts for Insulation

  • Parts for Electronics and Separator
